Sumit Mallick is a Researcher, Poet, Social Worker, and Traveler. Sumit obtained his PhD in February, 2026 from Yenepoya (Deemed to be University). At present, he works as Post Doctoral researcher at the Division of Molecular Genetics and Cancer, Nitte University Centre for Science Education and Research (NUCSER), Mangalore, India.
During his PhD, he worked on the tropism of Hematopoietic Stem Cells towards cancer and cancer stem cells, and on deciphering how these HSCs alter cancer metabolism. He utilizes human cord blood and apheresis-mobilized blood-derived hematopoietic stem cells to achieve tumor tropism.
Moreover, he is also working with the Division of Clinical Nutrition, Faculty of Science, Institute of Basic Medical Sciences, The University of Oslo (UiO), Boks 1072 Blindern, NO-0316 OSLO, Norway.
He loves playing the flute and violin in his leisure time. Additionally, he enjoys traveling and exploring new places.
